Dar: I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?
Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
So if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
So why don't we go
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?

Dar: "Somewhere Only We Know" is a song performed and composed by Keane, officially released as their third commercial single, and appearing as the opening track of their debut album, Hopes and Fears as the first single. It is considered also Keane's first major commercial release, becoming one of the greatest hits of 2004 worldwide and topping the UK charts on the number three during its first week of sale. Also, it was Keane's best selling single until "Is It Any Wonder?" in 2006.
Dar: The thought of "somewhere only we know" is both enigmatic and engaging. I saw Keane at the Tsunami concert when they were resonably new to the scene and was blown way ........
What do you know about this artist or track that others may not?
Dar: Noel Gallagher famously dismissed them saying "Traditionally speaking, the three biggest twats in any band are the singer, the keyboardist and the drummer. I don't need to say anything else."
