  • Comment or review

  • Rob: What an amazing little book, I loved the characters and the way Steinbeck writes is fantastic - it's beautifully phrased and Steinbeck describes the scenes and characters so vividly.

It was very hard to put down and I never wanted the story to end.

  • Rob: It was a gift from FindLikeMinds Co-founder, Andy. Having seen my influence profile he thought I'd like Steinbeck. It was one of the first of many FindLikeMinds moments - You can read more at the blog http://blog.findlikeminds.com/

  • What do you know about this book or author that others may not?

  • Rob: Cannery Row was published at the end of World War II. Steinbeck said he'd written it for a group of soldiers who had said to him (he was a war correspondent at the time) 'Write something funny that isn't about the war'.
