Dar: I love Jack Vetriano - even before his beautiful paintings began to appear on birthday cards! We have had a print of the "dualists" on oue wall for many years
His images have a photographic quality and reflect an era and fashion I can relate to - if I go go back in time this is the time I would like to live in

Dar: Vettriano says - "All roads lead back to where I grew up. More and more, I realise that the gunpowder trials were laid long ago when I was a lad. They lie dormant and are then ignited by something more random; perhaps a song on the radio or a conversation in a pup, or seeing a woman done up to te nines for a night out".

Dar: Vettriano worked as a mining engineer in the Fife coal fields - like his Father.
He didn't start painting unti he was 21 and taught himself
