At FindLikeMinds.com if you have a influence that corresponds with another member you can send a connection request and connect with that member. Once connected you’ll be able to see more profile information and new member information like favourites. Connected members’ can then engage with each other, showing an even greater bond and revealing even further information. Connecting and engaging also positively affects on your gidget score.

Every member has a neat member card that appears in search results and also takes pride of place on your dashboard – the first page you land on when you sign in. The card carries your screen name, avatar, Gidget, one liner, location information and also links to your profile. You can change the appearance of your member card by clicking any part of it in the dashboard view. Member cards also appear when you move your mouse over any avatar!

Your homepage is where people get to know you and find out more about what makes you tick. It’s located at http://www.FindLikeMinds.com/YourScreenName so it’s always easy for you and others to find. As well as checking out your influences, favourites and skills logged in members can also send you messages and connection requests. Your profile information can also be seen, along with your Gidget, connection information and links to your blog, photos and videos if you have them. You can also reach your homepage or the homepage of anyone else by clicking on a Screen Name at the top of a member card.

The dashboard is the first page you land on when you sign in. It contains short cuts to all the main sections of FindLikeMinds.com, shows your most recent like minds and details any new messages or connection requests you’ve received. It’s also the place you’ll find out all the latest things happening on FindLikeMinds.com.

First of all, view the Influence, skill or favourite you want to edit or delete - you can do this in myprofile > viewinfluence, viewskill or viewfavourite. Next for influences and skills, select the one you are interested in, then reveal its text by clicking 'showdetails'. The 'edit' and 'delete' links will appear at the top and the bottom of the influence/skill. Click edit or delete as appropriate.

For favourites, there is only one link which is 'edit' and you can add or remove any information you don't want in the favourite form.

By clicking the connect/engage link on the members homepage, you can select a matching influence (one you both have in common) or any other influence from their profile (they too need at least one Influence to be eligible to connect). You can engage with any member you have already connected with.

The network of like minds you are connecting or engaging with is never shown publicly, only someone you are already connecting or engaging with we be able to see your network and only those at same level (connected or engaged) will be shown.

If you want to add a bit of colour to your profile, you can add an avatar and a main image as well as a 'one liner' and some 'In my own mind' text via the myaccount tab by selecting 'edit homepage' from the sub menu. You can also do this by clicking on any part of your member card on your dashboard (the first page you see when you log in).

Influences are the things that you've found most influential in your life, the things that have made a real difference to you. Whether big or small, from a book that changed you outlook on the world, to a song, piece of art, poem or even a place. Influences help members to understand more about you and are used when connecting and engaging with other members. You can enter as many Influences as you like.

Skills helps others' understand what your talents are, what you're good at and what you aspire to in the future. A skill can be either Creative, Intellectual, Interpersonal, Practical or Technical. Once you've chosen your ability level and added a relevant web link, you can describe your achievements, what you are most proud of relating to that skill. You can enter as many Skills as you like.

Favourites are about capturing your single all time favourite things. Along with Influences and Skills, Favourites help members learn more about what makes you tick. You need to pick one definitive all time favourite to add to each category.

Only those members you opt to connect or engage with will get to see your favourites.

You can add in any link to a relevant web page for any of your Influences, Skills or Favourites. The easiest way to do this is to:

1. Single click on the URL shown at the top of the browser window. The browser should highlight the entire URL.

2. Copy the URL. You can do this by typing ctrl+c, right clicking on the highlighted text or by pressing the "copy" button for your browser.

Once you have done this, you can now paste it into any link box on FindLikeMinds.com.

It's a Gidget! A gidget is an animated visual device to help you and others measure two key factors

The first, your total profile score is shown around the outside edge of the gidget. If your profile score reaches all the way around to the other side of the gidget, then you have the highest profile score on FindlikeMinds.com. If your score is somewhere in between it's shown as a visual percentage of the highest score.

The second shows the number of members you are connecting and engaging with. The higher the number the better!

From your Dashboard click composemessage under mymessages or click the mylikeminds tab and select mymessages from the sub menu, then you can click composemessage.

Type the Screen Name of the member you want to send a message to, add a subject, type your message and press send. It's as simple as that!
